About the aircraft
The Piper PA-28-180 Archer is a four-seat, single-engine, low-wing aircraft made by the Piper Aircraft Company. First flown in 1960, the 180 horsepower Lycoming engine and fixed-pitch propellor make the Archer one of the more powerful aircraft in the PA-28 family.
The Archer combines the low-wing handling characteristics inherent to all Piper aircraft with a larger cabin, more baggage space and a more powerful engine giving better climb rates and higher cruise speeds than the smaller 160 horsepower variants. VH-MAJ has a fixed pitch propeller and fixed undercarriage so can be operated by pilots who hold only a basic pilot’s licence and does not require any additional endorsements.
